Brilliant article, Ossiana. I agree with all the points, especially about the things that I've personally smelt growing up. But you didn't mention why the smell of "smoky restaurants and bars" are going to be lost to time.
Is it because of the obvious, that we're progressing as a society and gradually moving towards a smoke free world? Or because smoking will be completely banned at all public places one day, or for some other reason? Sorry I just couldn't make out why. The bars and restaurants in my city still have smoking zones, and many of them allow smoking all over the place. So I don't know if this is a city thing.
