How I Used The “Dreadmill” To Bridge The Gap Between The Obese Me And The New Me
How the humble treadmill helped me become fit and athletic again
Introduction
I was always a fit person right from the very beginning. In school I was an ardent footballer and cricket player, and whilst in college, I’d embark on plenty of countryside treks during the weekends with my college mates.
I continued indulging in all my favourite fitness activities even after I graduated college and was deeply invested in my first job. I never knew what obesity was or what being overweight felt like since I was never obese at any point of time. I was always a lean mean fitness machine. There were obese people around me, and I saw what a number that did on their bodies when it came to their stamina and energy levels. They were least interested in accompanying me anywhere, or doing anything under the sun. Literally. Post work, recreation was all about rest and relaxation for them rather than adventure and discovery.
I hoped to never end up in such a situation myself at any point in life. But alas! Life always has different plans for us, doesn’t it?
