I could relate to this statement more as particularly in Indian society where I come from, the concept of freedom doesn't even exist. You either live with your parents or SO. There is no in-between. Although these taboos are being broken more in the recent past, the norm of family living has been the overarching theme since decades, and continues to pervade our lives in this day and age.
