I totally resonate with this statement and I’d also fallen into the very same pattern. Joining a new place with the enthusiasm of an 8 year old, only to be tossed with heaps of meaningless work in a company where the only thing mattered was the bottom line.

A company where quantity is measured over quality is never a great place to work. And I learned that the hard way.
