No offense, but this approach suggests that the problem lies with the victim, who has to "learn to deal with" the difficult person, and not on the difficult person itself. I shouldn't be acclimatizing to the difficult person, it's they who should be conforming to civilized codes of conduct and should learn to treat people with respect.
