Thank you so much for pouring your heart out here. Such stories have to be told, else the world will conveniently sweep such stories under the rug and the tyranny will continue with someone else.

When such stories are hidden, people continue to believe in the "Indian/asian marriages last long" stereotype and continue perpetuating the same system again and again.

I only hope more Asian women growing up in conservative patriarchal structures read such stories so that they know the age old story about marriage being a lifelong thing, which they've been spoonfed all their lives, is nothing but brainwashing to get them to struggle and suffer in life just because their parents did, or just because family is the "only path" in life.
