These percentages mean nothing, as they change with the simultaneous increase in population. Just because they're low, doesn't mean they've decreased.

Second, going by your own link which you shared, homicide rates have increased in some countries and decreased in others, so that is mixed data and not a necessary reduction, so global data doesn't support your optimism as well.

Thirdly, everything else in my point still stands valid, as you're just talking about homicide. Billions of people are suffering in silence. Just because most of us don't have the gall or wherewithal to commit suicide or murder, doesn't mean we're enjoying the very best quality of life. It's everyday violence. It's everyday atrocities against marginalized folk, minorities, and everyone else. It's power struggles, and climate change every single day like I already mentioned before.

Fourthly, "the 24-hour news cycle magnified by the horseshit information" which you so eloquently put is based on actual data. Just because its a twenty four cycle and just because people see social media nowadays more than they do TV, doesn't mean the information is any less valid, or fake.

Enjoy the cocoon my friend. Also, if you haven't noticed, we have war and a pandemic going on right as we speak.
