This is probably the most baseless, ignorant and ill conceived article I've ever read on Medium. You think people will stop aspiring for the good things in life?

You say "If we decrease the vast quantities of wealth in that top 10%, we decrease resource consumption."

This is the biggest joke ever in this article. Do you even know how powerful those at the top are? They will do everything in their power to safeguard their assets. And how does it solve the problem of crowding and congestion anyway? You want the top 1% to start travelling by the subway? That's a laugh. There's way too many people on the planet, regardless of how a millionaire consumes.

You say" Develop new ways to increase green energy. Investigate a way to make plants more nutrient-dense."

First of all, there's no such thing as green energy. Every alternative form of energy that's been devised till date requires some form of mining. And what on earth does making plants more nutrient dense have anything to do with overpopulation? Like imagine pushing and jostling for space on the subway because of overpopulation, but then recollecting the nutrient rich greens you had for breakfast to make it go away? Laughable!

The only point of yours that makes sense is the one about women empowerment, as it has been proven that empowered women have smaller families or none at all, thereby greatly contributing to population reduction.
