This is sure going to pursuade a lot of people to shed all the hope and optimism they had with their individual actions to tackle this crisis. I think we've already reached a point where individual action is negligible and has absolutely 0 impact in front of monstrous energy expansion. You can wash your take out, swap out the plastic straws and shopping bags, eat a local diet, do composting and waste segregation, install water and electricity saving fixtures in your house, commute to work by cycle, and live an anti-consumerist life all you want............ and it still wont make a difference.
