Introduction
This is the second part to 5 Unbelievable Things That Happen In Movies All The Time, an article that I published quite a while ago.
Things that defy all logic and common sense seem to happen all the time in movies, don’t they? For all the high octane stunts, hypnotizing suspense, and edge-of-your-seat thrills, don’t you wish movies were sometimes a bit more realistic too?
Here are my second set of observations:
People getting out of sticky situations with remarkable ease
It doesn’t matter whether the hero (or villain) is in a set of handcuffs, bound and gagged to a chair with heavy chains, or is locked up in prison. They always manage to extract themselves from such situations with remarkable ease. It doesn’t matter what kind of tight spot or sticky situation they’re put in. They will escape! Whether it's from a burning plane, a moving train, or a sinking car, they will do it. And they will survive.
However, the exact opposite seems to happen to everyone else who is not the hero in the movie.
