What a banger of an article, Michelle!
So many people brag on and on and on about how they didn't use daddy's or mommy's money and how they are so "self-made". But very few people listening to these people talk realize what a planetary mind shift it takes when one risks it all knowing failing can put you right back on the streets versus back to sulking in your parents 3 bedroom Villa.
People who always put rich and successful people on a pedestal aren't aware of this because they don't have a worldview of their own, and their thoughts and opinions are usually formed listening to whatever lies (the hustle and hardwork story) that privileged successful people peddle to them all day long.
Thanks to amazing writers like you on Medium my eyes were opened to this charade a long time ago, and I've learnt to take every privileged successful persons sob story with a pinch of salt.
