You need to keep people's problems and real world realities in mind while shifting to non-animal sources of food, and an absolutist all-or-nothing approach is the worst way to bring about change. We need comprehensive solutions. Not solutions that benefit one part of society and neglect the other.
Come to India and see the ground realities here. Farmers are committing suicide as it is for failed crops and unsold stocks. Imagine investing your entire life savings in tons of machinery, production and manpower, and suddenly have people from the city come and tell you that everything you're doing is wrong because your business is based on animal exploitation.
How quickly can you turn over an entire production line meant for animal products into one for vegan food? (spoiler alert: the government isn't going to help) The dairy industry is the backbone of this country. You're not going to get people to switch to plant-based milk overnight without first taking care of the families who've invested generations of sweat and toil into the dairy business.
Not everyone has the agency or money to go vegan. For those people I've suggested other actions they can take to solve our current day problems. Animal exploitation isn't our only modern day issue. And veganism sure isn't our only weapon in our arsenal against climate change, global warming, and extreme weather events.
So can you please point out what exactly is wrong with the rest of my suggestions?
